Aalborg Energie Technik a/s Biomass Boiler Plant

The Pannovosges Plant is a biomass-fired plant that annually burns approx. 92,000 tons of wood chips, chipboard waste, bark and sander dust.

The plant was the first delivered to the Pfleiderer AG and is also mentioned as Best Available Technology (BAT) in the IPPC report "Large Combustion Plants" published by the EU in 2006.

Plant Upgraded in 2000

In 2000 the plant was upgraded with a new robust AET dust firing system in order to burn large volumes of  saw and sander dust with very high availability.

The supply

The employees of Aalborg Energie Technik a/s (AET) designed, engineered, supplied, erected and commissined the complete boiler plant. The systems supplied include:

• Boiler with integrated thermal oil heat exchanger and economiser
• AET dust firing system

• PLC control and SCADA system.

The biomass heating plant was commissioned in 1994. The plant was subsequently sold by Pfleiderer AG and now belongs to the Egger Group.
