Successful pressure test for the Novawood project at Seqens in France
Press Release. Aalborg, Denmark, January 24th 2022
The pressure test for the pressure parts was successfully completed the 22.01.2022, together with the Notified Body (DNV).
Important milestone achieved on time
At the pressure test, the tightness of all the weldings was proven, both for the AET Boiler (170 bar) and the high-pressure feedwater system (235 bar). Despite the difficult conditions caused by Covid-19, this important milestone has been reached with the successful pressure test.
Our thanks go to our customer ENGIE Solutions, Seqens (which will receive steam from the boiler) and to all colleagues at the project, especially our on-site installation team and our contractors' teams, for their good work.
Seqens plant for the Novacarb site in Laneuveville-devant-Nancy, France
The Novawood project will, when it goes into operation, save 150,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. The residue-fired plant will utilise about 130,000 tonnes of non-recyclable wood and railway sleepers per year.
The AET boiler is designed with the newest travelling grate technology, which has clear advantages in terms of compliance with the required emission limits as well as a high efficiency. In addition to the generation of 14.6 MWe, 55 tonnes steam per hour will be sent to SEQENS steam network.
