The Biolacq Energies project in Lacq, is a biomass-fired CHP plant with an annual fuel input of 160,000 tons of forestry-wood, and clean, uncontaminated residues from wood processing. The Biolacq Energies, which is a subsidiary of Cofely Servies, will supply steam to SOBEGI at the INDUSLACQ Industrial Park.
The use of wood energy will prevent the release of 86,000 tonnes of CO2/year in the next 20 years. It will also produce 89 GWh of green electricity per year, which corresponds to the consumption for 13,000 homes.
The plant is to be completed and commissioned in 2015.
AET is presently completing 2 other plants for Cofely GDF SUEZ, one in Orléans and another in Vielle-Saint-Girons (Landes) in France.
