Aalborg Energie Technik a/s Biomass Combined Heat and Power Plant

The Swiss Krono site contains a biomass-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant that generates 20,000 kW of electricity and supplies the MDF and OSB manufacturer with heated thermal oil and supplies flue gas for the drying process.
Besides traditional wood chips, bark, sawmill residue etc. the plant has extensive experience of combustion using a wide range of A1 - A4 fuels:
MDF-granulate from chipboard manufacturing
Sander dust with very high N content
Composted wood with up to 25% ash/inert material
Fuel from external sources.
The plant utilises 130,000 tons of waste wood annually.
High Availability
The CHP plant was delivered in 2003, and had an availability of 95% (8300 hours) in 2013.
AET Supply
AET carried out the design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of the fuel handling system, the boiler plant and the flue gas cleaning system on a turnkey basis. The systems supplied include:
