The Kronoply station is a biomass fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant that supplies the MDF and OSB manufacturer Kronoply with heated thermal oil and supplies flue gas for drying process.
Besides the traditional wood chips, bark etc. there is an extensive experience at the plant with combustion of a wide range of A1 - A4 fuels:
- MDF-granulate from chipboard manufacturing
- Sander dust with very high N content
- Sawmill residue
- Composted wood with up to 25 % ash
- Fuel from external sources
The plant burns 130,000 tons of contaminated waste wood yearly.
AET supply
AET has carried out the design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of the fuel handling system, the boiler plant and the flue gas cleaning system on a turnkey basis. The systems supplied include:
- Fuel storage and handling
- Fuel dosing system
- AET Combustion System spreader stoker with AET-Biograte
- AET boiler with superheater and economizer and flue gas air preheater
- AET over fire air system
- AET dust firing system
- AET SNCR DeNOx system
- Feed water system
- Water treatment system
- Ash handling system
- Stack
- Piping and ducting
- Engineering of turbine, ACC and turbine hall
- Optimisation of heat balance
- Electrical installations
- PCL control system and instrumentation
- SCADA system
