Aalborg Energie Technik a/s (AET) Biomass Boiler Plant

Tilbury Green Power Ltd., London, UK

The Tilbury Green Power (TGP) project will demonstrate Irish Utility Electricity Supply Board (ESB) continuing commitment to renewable electricity generation and further reducing their carbon footprint.

The plant owners ESB, Green Investment Bank (GIB) and AET expect that the generated power will be equivalent to powering approximately 70.000 homes.

Senior debt funding is being provided by the Danish Export Credit Agency (Eksport Kredit Fonden), Investec and Rabobank.

Positive effect in London area

The power plant will be fuelled with 270,000 tonnes of waste wood per year, which is to be supplied by Stobart Biomass. The catchment area for the fuel is from within the London area, so the plant will reduce the amount of waste wood going to landfill.

It is expected that the plant will create 370 jobs during the construction phase and approximately 50 permanent jobs in on-going operations.

The plant is expected to commence operations in 2017.
